Nothing is safe, everything is vulnerable, so you don't want to be the one with the weakest front door in the street. 128 bit WEP is good.

Turning off the SSID broadcast only prevents casual users, not hackers, from seeing it, so it's pretty pointless.
Having read about it, I'm changing our security mode from WEP to WPA-PSK, which is far harder to crack as the TKIP option ensures that every data packet is sent with its own unique encryption key.
