to me this is an easy laydown. dont go broke in an unraised pot etc. also, I see some players limp with big pairs when folded to them in the sb. I think he has a boat much more than 41% or the times.

I wouldve been happy to just call the river just so the big reraise didnt happen.

But don't you want to maximize profits against Kx? It's much more likely that he has trips (or worse) then he has a boat, statistically speaking.

I think it is pretty weakto just call the river as well. I might have raised less than you did, but who can say it wouldn't have had the same result? In a battle of the blinds people will be more aggressive or tricky with worse holdings than they might normally have, but this is still a horribly difficult call to make. You guys play limits too big for me, all I can do is look at the $400+ bet and I get scared money syndrome.

I raised, but as I said I meant to call the turn. The reason why I called was because I either figured him for nothing or a trip Ks. If he has nothing my nut-kickers are ahead. If his "nothing" is a 4 I have enough outs to make my call okay. If he has a King, then I'm trying to hit a gutshot to potentially win much more off him. It's not a great call, but really, I don't think it's even worth arguing about as it is equivalent to one BB.

Anyway, I called his re-raise after much deliberation. I specifically remember telling myself what a bad call I was making, but I think I speak for all of us when sometimes we just can't help but make a bad call.

Oh yeah, he showed KT for a boat.

A quick comment about that game though. I played it for the first time in a long time yesterday, and it's gotten much softer. I occasionally watch the 10/20NL game just to watch the two/three best players in that game, and I notice that most of the people who used to clean up the 2/4 and 3/6 games a few months ago are now sitting in the 10/20 game. Which means a fresh batch of fish has moved up to 2/4. If anyone wants to move up from 1/2 this site might now have the worst players at this level aside from Party, which I assume is still a giant aquarium.

I would say that Hallinggol and Curzdog are #1 and #2 and head and shoulders above everyone else. After that I think Mitch, BusDriver, Michael1123, are others who I respect a lot. Oh, and TheTakeover is a monster, but I don't see him playing very often.

So your read was exactly right: trips Ks on the turn with nothing else.
