Definately try re-installing windows, i do it every few months and its like having a new PC again, for just surfing and playing poker your laptop should be fine, theres no reason apart from software problems that it shouldnt run like it did when new at its age imo.

PC1 (desktop) is dead due to not being able to boot up anymore.... PC2 is thus feeling lonely and unnetworkable.

Here's my CPU usage and such - obviously it varies.

CPU usage is 10-30% at the moment, all the other stats are staying solid. My PC is pretty much at rest, a bit of internet explorer (4 windows) and I have yahoo messenger running.
