Shoulda just pushed in PF...what are you hoping for on the flop? No A? If he has AA, then it's more likely no A will come on the flop...all rags? If he has AA, then you're behind anyway? A King? You don't have odds to call for set value...it's push/fold pf on this one. But, yes, as played c/f the flop as you only beat AQ/AK. But, had you pushed in pf, AK may have still called and you wouldn't have wasted the 40.
