200NL 6 max to push or not

Postby The Golden 1 » Mon Nov 20, 2006 12:32 pm

Eurolinx, full stacks, first orbit so no reads.

Dealt K[d] Q[d] UTG+1, raise to 8, button calls.

Flop 10 [d] 8[c] 4[d]. I lead 15, opponent raises to 40. I?

The better player should win the race. Always.

I like a fold. That is an enormous raise, and I doubt you have any FE which you need to make this +EV.

Pot is laying you roughly 3 to 1. If OP has what he says he has here then you have big implied odds should you hit the turn. I can make a case for calling and betting a good turn, but I probably fold here unless the general player on this site is particularly weak.

i would shove. a lot of the time you have 12 outs. in the worst case you'll have 8. you will occasionally have 15. and when villain has [Ad]x[d] he'll often fold it to your shove.

and the raise isn't enormous. $19 preflop + $15 on the flop.....making it $40 isn't even pot sized. pot sized raise = $64. $40's barely a minraise.

Poker is silly.

It is not enough to be good at chess, you must also play well.

Somewhere in the world someone is training when you are not. When you race him, he will win.
