Villian is too loose but not overly aggressive. PT has him at 48/10/2.22 over 200 or so hands. I haven't been involved with him all that much.

I felt it was either this, or re-raise the flop, but if I do that he has the option of pushing with his combo draws and putting me in a real ugly position. I think by waiting for a safe turn the chance he's pushing with a combo draw goes down and the chance he has a real hand goes up. Thoughts?

Poker is silly.

"#3 pencils and quadrille pads."
- Seymoure Cray (1925-1996) when asked what CAD tools he used to design the Cray I supercomputer; he also recommended using the back side of the pages so that the grid lines were not so dominant.

"Interesting - I use a Mac to help me design the next Cray."

So you'd fold to his flop raise then? If not, why would you call his bet with the intention of check folding the turn?
No I wouldn't fold to his flop minraise without a read. Not many people have balls to fire big again if they have a draw, so I think that if he has pair + a draw he would bet half pot maximum or check behind. (If he bets weak I'll just call him down if no draw hits.) Moreover if he has a made hand he should be concerned that I could be drawing myself, as I could easily have a flush or a straight draw with this action. So I will get info about his hand anyway and cheaply.

bet the turn to give any draws he may have bad odds and to get value at the same time out of 67 or a pair + FD. I think checking is bad as it gives him the opportunity to check and get a free card when he's behind and bet when he's ahead.
I am not so concerned about charging the draws, pot is not big yet and I'd rather let him have a free card than invest anything in a clear reverse implied odd situation.
