When there's no proof or evidence, anything can be possible in the world of conspiracy theories. :D

Here's the reasons I will not vote republican (I was republican 6 years ago btw):

1. This whole online poker fiasco. Introduced by Republicans and finished by a Republican. Obv this is very important to me since I make my living playing online poker.

I dont believe poker is that big a deal in the grand scheme of things and to vote for one Party because of poker seems silly to me. Not too mention the fact that a majority of Democrats voted to pass the "ban"....and Im talking about in the House where it stood alone. Democrats arent magically going to repeal the law if / when they get control. I didnt hear any outrage from them

2. We are losing our indivdual rights. The patriot act limits our freedoms while giving the government broad powers to constantly monitor us. I fear the government is becoming too powerful.

The Patriot Act is needed. Sorry, but this is a new day and age and its needed. People want us to fight crime but dont want to give the authorities powerful laws to do just that. You lost alot of your freedom when it comes to airline travel also. Do you want to go back to the lax way it was just so you dont have to wait in line? If the Patriot Act is being abused, then get rid of the people abusing it. The act itself is needed. Your definition and mine, of "abuse of the Patriot Act" would probably be quite different, but thats another story

3. Suspension of habeas corpus. Another thing pushed by Republicans. Now we can be thrown in jail without charge and left to rot. I still can't beleive the lack of media coverage this has recieved.

I agree with you here, although I dont think its being "pushed by Republicans". Its easy to blame everything you dont like on Republicans just because they have the majority. Where are all the Democrats standing up and yelling to free the people in Gitmo? I dont hear them

4. I am not in the Chrisitan right. I do not care about gay marriage and I believe abortion is a woman's choice.

I couldnt care less about either of these issues. Its none of my business

5. The Iraq War. If we're commited to stay there at least we could do a better job? Violence is increasing every month.

Sure we could do a better job, but who says a Democrat could do better? LBJ was a Democrat. How did he do in Vietnam?

6. I don't trust Republicans. Weapons of Mass destruction? We will be viewed as liberators? What little trust I had in the president is completely wiped out.

I dont trust ANY politician. You shouldnt either. There WAS WMD in Iraq. Hussein used it on his own people. Maybe it was gone before we got there and maybe we knew it was gone. I dont know. Either way, this has nothing to do with what a different republican President would do

7. Taxes. I'm in the middle class and my taxes blow. Self-employment tax (an extra 10%) caps at about $15k this year. Why the hell does it cap? This extra 15k is killing me. But if I made a millon, 15k means nothing. Tax the rich their fair share. If I'm rich I wouldn't really care.

There is no doubt that my taxes have been reduced in Bushs tenure. He didnt cap self emplyment tax. Democrats historically raise taxes and Republicans lower them. Now, Republicans do it to help their rich friends (notice how I am not blinded just because I lean towards being Republican and I can see alot of their faults?), but it still lowers the taxes for the avg middle class person

8. That new bill allowing torture (agian pushed by republicans) is stupid. If we can do it to them, why shouldn't they do it to us?

Again, its easy to blame Republicans for everything you dont like just because they have control. How many Democrats are blatantly against it? Other countries already torture our soldiers. This changes nothing in that regard.

This country has had its ups and downs since the beginning of time. There were ups and downs with both parties and there always will be. I believe that Bush has screwed up enough things that a Democrat will probably win this time (as long as they can come up with a decent candidate and i havent seen one yet), but I doubt that you will see any change in your daily life because of it. Years will go by and people will still be dissatisfied and then we will be back to Republicans again. It really doesnt matter that much which party is in power, people will never be happy
