He's very good at playing certain roles but has a very slender range (like many leading men/women - George clooney can do about two roles and that's it, but he does them very well, Samuel L Jackson etc etc etc etc). The quick and the dead, romeo and juliet (actually I thought he was quite bad in titanic but that's mainly due to his laughable accent... so we'll say titanic as well), Catch me if you can, all roles where he could be charming/loveable/faux-naive/a fairly normal young guy in his teens or early twenties. Anything more unusual or taxing than that (for instance, playing a supposedly emotionally tormented gangland criminal and later gang leader in GONY) and he struggles. So he does his own thing pretty well and he looks good (although he does have a laughably small face, anyone else noticed that?) but he needs to either learn his limitations, learn to method act, or not get cast in challenging stuff that takes him out of his comfort zone.
