The NL has sucked monkey balls this year...the best NL team would rank below any of the four AL playoff teams.

I think the Mets would take Oakland. I think the problem for the Mets is that they haven't had to play for the last 2 months as they had the division won pretty much a couple of weeks after the all star game, so they've kind of stuttered a bit lately in the post-season.

Anyways, Detroit's been my pick for a long time - I was so annoyed I didn't get some money on when I saw them at 12-1 to win a couple of months into the season on a british sports betting site. Pitching wins pennants....

I have a tough time seeing the Mets taking out Oakland with no Pedro, the Met rotation is pretty thin after Glavine with no Pedro.
