Just got this from an interview with him

Q: 'To how great an extent do you feel that the WSOP victory was "deserved", and how much was "positive variance"?'

A: 'I think it's about as clearly deserved as any victory could possibly be. I'm very proud of the fact that I held the chip lead from Day 3 on. Considering anything can happen in poker I think it says a lot to maintain a chip lead for so long in the biggest poker tournament ever.'

I think it's about as clearly deserved as any victory could possibly be.

Are you F-ing kidding me? Yeah yeah, 94 is a monster, great hand to be calling 4xbb raises with, OOP. I know no one can even make it to the final 2 days without a lot of luck but come on! He was hitting EVERYTHING. They showed like 30 hands of his on tv, and he had the worst hand like what 4 times? Hard to lose when you're hitting 90 of your flops genius.

If you want to read the whole thing it can be found here:

Oh well, I guess we've had great champs the past 2 years, they can't all be winners. Wait, that doesn't make sense...

Jamie Gold is a tool but to say anyone deserves to win a poker tournament that is this big and filled with this many idiots(yes Allstar I'm talking about you ) is really a joke. Gold went on the run of a lifetime and didnt make any huge mistakes. He deserved it as much as Hachem or Raymer. The chances that any big name pro with the ME in the coming years is really really slim. Its just going to be some yahoo who catches a good run of cards and doesnt make big mistakes.

Actually as the big picture of poker goes, I'd rather see regular people like gold win. It continues the illusion that anyone can play and win at poker, even if like Moneymaker they arent any good.

When I play a patient and relaxed game I win - that simple.

Lee -

FSN has shown some poker that was far superior to that of the WPT.

Championship Poker at The Plaza

and something something something at Turning Stone.

Howard Lederer commentating, and them showing lots of the hands (all in the case of the TS event, I'm not 100% sure of the plaza event).
Boy, you got me confused with a man who repeats himself.
