First threat to online poker stopped

Postby kennyg » Wed Sep 27, 2006 12:09 am

They passed the Defense bill today without the online gambling bill attachted. Frist could not get the support he needed.

The fight is not over yet though. Frist is still gonna try and get it up to vote seperately now. But at least we dodged this huge bullet.

Last night I stayed up late playing poker with Tarot cards. I got a full house and four people died.

Good news, but the way that thread subject sounded, I thought you hired a 'visitor' for Frist, and we were going to hear about his disappearance soon. :D

not sure if i was wrong about the DOD bill... however

from saveonlinepoker.com
CONGRESSIONAL UPDATE: Reuters News Service has confirmed what NROG reported first on Monday that efforts to attach the internet gambling legislation to the DoD bill has failed. NROG sources are still reporting that Frist is looking at other options to get the legislation passed before he exits the Senate at the end of this term, however it appears he will not be acting on it prior to the lame duck session in November. Please stay active and keep calling your Senators, This fight is far from over!
