MP1 bets, Hero raises, MP1 3 bets, Hero caps.

River: (2 players)
MP1 bets, Hero raises, MP1 3 bets. Hero calls.

Final Pot:
MP1 wins $19 with Jacks full of 9's (He was playing 9JJX)

I think that overall this is a horrible situation for me in which I am going to lose money, but I'm wondering if I could have slowed the bleeding a little.

Thoughts:
1) Who caps the flop? I called because I wanted him to bet into me on the turn. I was sure that he had a 9 and he had been playing very LA.
2) I am disgusted by the cap on the turn. I can only attribute this play to playing 4 tables at a time and even though that mistake only cost me 1 BB I don't like making plays that blatently bad.
3) River, anyone not 2 bet here?

Besides the turn cap I like my overall line and think I played this hand fairly well. What do you guys think?

I cap the flop, raise the turn probably. I'm not sure cap is terrible on the turn, 9J is all that he can have to beat with and he could always be messing with A9 or 22, but I think I probably just call the 3-bet. On the river I think your raise is going to lose 2 bets if you're behind and win you one if you're ahead. Thus you need to be ahead more than 2/3 of the time here. Given his heavy action and an UGLY turn and river (if he's playing a hand with a 9 in it, then stuff like 9TJQ are all in that playing range), I think I PERHAPS just call down that river. I think you find out if you're behind pretty well by capping the turn, then if he bets out on the river you can close down and call. Alternative is to do it like you said, call the turn 3-bet then raise the river. I think I marginally prefer capping turn then calling down river as it SEEMS to potentially give you the info that you're behind for one less BB. So you probably lost 1-2 more BBs than you should've on the hand, BUT if the guy was a moron then perhaps you played it fine, I think that your read on him has a lot to do with it!

Did you raise it preflop? Sometimes I think I'd raise that, other times not (i.e. if it's tight and everyone will fold).
