Hmm, back to two games.
The more that I look over the past two months, the more that I think Leyland is a genious. They played their rough stretch (Minnx2, CWS, yankees, a's, angels, bosox) and didnt burn out their bullpen in the process. Part of the reason they played so poorly was that Leyland kept going to his long relievers (Grili, Ledezma, Minor, Maroth recently), as opposed to burning up his bullpen. His core of relievers has pitched very little in the past month, unlike someone like the Yankees, where guys like Proctor have made 60+ appearances this year.
Sometimes its the things that dont happen that mean something.
Plus, the tigers have one series left against the white sox, and the rest of the games are against baltimore, toronto, and the royals.
But the twins-white sox series to end the season should be good.
