2nd nut flush

Postby mitcheze » Wed Apr 06, 2005 2:24 am

.25/.50 blind in a home game. i have $84. 2 opponents, both have me covered i am dealt [Kh] [Qh] in MP and limp. player A raises to $3.50 and villian (on the button) calls and i call, so we are thee ways to the flop of [As] [9h] [3h] . I check and both opponents check. the turn is the [4h] . i lead out $5 and both players call the bet. river is [5d] . i lead out $15. The first player calls, and then the button raises all in. i think about it for a little and call, and the other player shows [9s] [9c] and folds. the button had [Ah] [Th] for the nut flush. would you guys have called the river bet. i still had $60 in front of me and the pot was $55 plus the all in bet. would you guys have called the all-in raise on the river?

Yes I would have probably called off my stack with the second nut hand. The only exception is against someone that will not push with less than the nuts.

Not a good night with the SDSU game Mitch??? Tough hand, pretty hard to get away from the second nut flush on a non paired board. Who were you playing against???

Abbott had the set of nines, i knew i had him beat, Ebert had the nut nut and was a huge chip stack before the hand so i thought he might have a lower flush. i criticized abbott for not betting the flop becuase Ebert said he would have raised his top pair and flush draw, and i would have folded and saved myself. oh well.

Fold KQ preflop to a decent raise. It's likely dominated...and as TJ says "suited is a broke's lament." IMO
