Good stuff CJ,

No I haven't experienced something similar unfortunately, but I feel it's coming. After finishing sessions constantly in profit for the last month and a half, I feel a lot more confident in my ability now.

Can't wait for that feeling though.

I've had times like that where you just feel you are making all the right moves. If it happens to occur when you are getting a bunch of good cards, it makes a for some very big sessions.

If I'd had a few more good hands, and won the half dozen I lost at the river, I'd have been way, way up. However, if that had occurred, I might not have noticed what I did. Would I trade that feeling for a measly couple hundred bucks? You bet your ass. I'm in it for the money. 8-)

I told my radio boss that poker players are the only pros who don't say "it's not about the money." For us,... it's about the money.

Im confused. This is limit right? You mentioned the flop being "capped" and you only bought in with $100 so it must be limit.

Theres no such thing as a blocking bet in a limit game.

Hey, I've been known to screw up a concept.

I was head's up and out of position. I don't remember the hand, but I know I had a good draw against a made hand. I called his raise. Flop came, gave me a few outs but didn't make my hand. I wanted to continue, but not for a lot of money, so I bet. I had a strong image, so he must have thought I'd hit something, which given the flop could easily have been the case. He called. Turn came, I checked. He must have thought I was going to check/raise, so he checked. River came, and I checked again. Now, it looked like no doubt I had made my hand and was definitely going to check/raise him. He checked, again. He had me beat nine ways to Sunday. That bet on the flop saved me at a full three BB.

Guess I'll have to go back and reread you article, ice.

Yes, it was $3/$6 limit. A nice, very loose game. Just a couple of guys who knew what they were doing and a couple of cooperative fish who came in on a rotating basis. The rest were rocks.
