I know little about college majors and all that, but I sorta disagree with Kuso (but not really)

If you attain a lot of success as a poker player and perhaps go pro, you will have a large net worth. Many poker player's have bankrolls in excess of a million dollars. The thing is, having that million dollars isn't as good as if the doctor has it. You can't spend it on a house and a ferrari, you need to keep it to play safely at $400/$800, or whatever the case may be. You could very easily have a higher net worth, but a lower standard of living.

Some people start up a business and become unfathomably rich. You friend probably won't do this, but if he does no amount of poker success for you, and anything short of curing cancer or aids for your friend will certainly leave you guys way way behind.

Doctors make a shitload of money, and as long as they make it through college they don't really need the stars to align to do so. They just get a job, treat patients, and make serious bank. He is the prohibitive favorite if he has a strong work ethic and is good at studying I would say. You and your other friend have volatile enough futures that you both have a puncher's chance at winning this bet, but doc is still a prohibitive favorite.

Doctor = 60%
Gambling Degenerate = 30%
Business Dude = 10%

I mean, you and the business guy will in all likelihood end up in the same sorta decent but not great job, and you'll have poker on the side. Meanwhile the doctor will make reshnefulous amounts of money.
Boy, you got me confused with a man who repeats himself.

one side note...

I think the chances of the doctor actually succeding at becomins a doctor is 50/50. He tries really hard but he def. isnt as smart as your avg doctor.

Organic Chemistry isn't hard :wink: Just alot of simple stuff built up on each other. Now if he steps into P-chem or Biochemistry he will probably be challenged if he has a competent professor.

If your potential doctor friend has a 4.0 after two years that shows if not a little intelligence at least a very good work/study effort which bodes well for getting into and finishing med school if he so chooses. Depending on his field of medicine he has the potential to put both of you away by a long shot barring some serious tournament wins on your part but I'll be rooting for you :lol: .

So for clarification on the actual bet....is it whomever has the least amount of net worth have to pay the winner and the guy in the middle gets a walk, or both the losers have to pay?
