OK, I think the stacks were like this...

Aggressive = 6,000
#2 = 5,000
Me = 2,500

Blinds were at 100/200 and Antes of 25 I think.

I never limped in. Even in the SB.

After he bluffed me off the huge pot with what would of been a winning hand for me. I was down to 700 ish. Then shortly I was dealt in the BB and he limped in.

The flop came

He bet minimum and I went all-in, he quickly called and flipped over



But the Turn was a and the River a blank. So I was back in the game, but then the cards dried up and I was knocked out on an all-in.

So not only was he aggressive, but he was trapping as well. I was lucky in the above example. But this guy had me 2nd guessing really bad.

I think trapping would be the only succesful play myself. It seems to work well when I do end up heads-up, in previous games, but I just never got the hands needed to do it before I was blinded down.

Another, valuable, experience lesson methinks.

In the hand given- as someone far greater than me once said, beware the limper! Especially when that limp is itself an unusual move for the individual concerned. However, in this spot, I don't think you did much wrong here. He could well have limped with high cards and you would be ahead, although again I would reiterate my suspicions if he had been raising all the time then limped, and, with your stack of only another 3.5BB I don't think you can fold.

For the record, this guy sounds like a far better player than most at this level. As you say he is bluffing and agressive mostly 3 handed but able to slowplay and trap too. That makes him good. Get yourself over to Party where 90% of people at the low SnGs are v poor! From what others here have said, I gather Stars is tougher. I far prefer to play passive tight opponents when short and there are a lot of them at Party.

These things happen- you ran into one of the tough players and didn't get the cards. From what you have said, it sounds like you are doing good. Keep it up.

Hmmmmmm, I don't know about trying other sites?

I started off at Pokerroom, and blew $150 on there in the style of the biggest fish in the ocean. Now that I've finally gotten my act together, I play solely on PokerStars and this is where I've been making my money. So I'd be loathed to give up a winning site.

But maybe I'll drop a little deposit over at PokerParty to see what it's like sometime in the future..
