I got kick/banned by Derk from the BTP IRC channel apparently because I disagree with him about some gambling odds decisions, and he'd rather go that route than talk about it. So, I set up another channel, ##nlhe. Anything goes in the channel except:

abuse of other people
flooding (posting a ton of crap all at once to be annoying)

The new channel name is ##nlhe instead of #btp, so in the last step, instead of typing in #btp, type ##nlhe instead. You can be in both channels at once without any problem, so this is not an either-or thing. Come hang out!

As a side note, would somebody from BTP the website like to take over the IRC stuff? Do you guys even care? I'm using the website in the channel topic, but I did not officially associate the channel with BTP, since I'm not officially associated with BTP.

Wow, this thread generated a hell of a lot more press than I expected, I thought it would just get ignored.
Since we're gonna have so much discussion, I might as well present my side.

1. I was right, not wrong. Emmasdad and I had a long talk about the points I was bringing up, and in all fairness to him (he was interrupted and had to leave), he never refuted anything I had to say in a mathematical sense, just denied it was true using various debate-club stratagems. He sure had a chance to make a reasoned argument, and was unwilling to devote the time, or just didnt have one in hand. Both arguments I presented are primarily logical in nature, and in particular only the business of splitting tens is "provable", telling someone they can cash out when they're up a ton and short bankroll is just common sense. Who cares about pulling in $23 in ev when half your total BR is sitting there in peril? To disrespect that as obviously stupid only reflects that the disrespecter is obviously wrong.

2. When someone tells you they aren't going to argue the point, and you call them out on it by saying they are wrong, you are not flaming them. Emmasdad, you're a nice guy in conversation, but you have some serious problems summarizing in a nonbiased fashion.

3. Whether I was right about the numbers is beside the point. I stated a position, asked why I was being told it was wrong, was told it wasnt gonna get argued, and sarcastically expressed dissatisfaction with that. Which person kicked me, and which banned is totally irrelevant as far as I'm concerned. Either reaction was totally ridiculous and unnecessary. Expecting me to beg Derk to be let back into a community channel when he overreacted in the first place is also ridiculous, and I will not set that kind of precedent.

We're no kind of community if self-appointed leaders can just up and kick someone out without any kind of sensible reason.

So, I went and started another channel. No hard feelings. I don't care if Derk wants to join it, or not, ever. I really don't care if no one ever joins it, if it stays empty long enough I'll give up on the notion altogether.

What I will not do is kiss the butt of someone who takes a foolish position, wont listen, won't even debate, and has a tantrum when he's told he's wrong. So you will not see me in #BTP again.

Nobody is ever gonna get ostracized from ##nlhe because I or some other guy with a @ disagrees with them on a question of math. Whether anyone ever shows up there remains to be seen.

The original post in this thread has useful info. Don't kill it off because there were some negative posts, that would suck.

There's no reason to join your channel, frankly. No one else in #BTP has complaints. I don't care if all of you present your side, you're all going to bias it somewhat. Present a chat log and then we have something to look at. No chat log and it's just a waste of time.
