Anyone fans of malt drinks? I'm not a big drinker and never like the tastes of beer and most mixed drinks so I need something to get me nice and buzzed before I start doing shots or finish off with beers.

If I have money, I would just sip on Glenlivet Scotch all day...Since I am on a tight budget I drink Black Velvet (cheap Canadian is WAY better than cheap Scotch...

It is getting warmer, so it will be time to visit Margaritaville soon, along wih some Gin and tonics...

Any beer will do as well...An interesting thing I just found out...Correct me if I am wrong gents...I saw this show which said 80 or 90% of the beer consumed in England and Ireland was in Pubs...NO way does that happen here I am quite sure...It may be why you guys like the stouter blends of beer...just a thought...

Beer - Lone Star Light

Wine - Boones Farm (any flavor) or MD 20/20 grape both over ice.

Wiskey - Jack green label

Mixers - Yucca Flats = 1/2 gallon Cheap Vodka (Plastic Bottle) half a dozen lemons, half a pound of sugar. Pour Vodka, lemon juice and sugar into a one gallon pickle jar. Add ice until jar in full. Wrap jar in towle and shake until liquid is frozen. Serve over ice in plastic or paper dixie cups.

Arrogant B a s t a r d Ale(not a bad cuss word here, like git)), and any small batch IPA.
Abita is decent monk.

Mixed drinks are different things to different people, but
an extra spicy bloody mary with Stolichnaya Pepar is a great way to take the edge off a hangover.
7 and 7 and Meyers dark rum and coke are amongst my favorites.
Eggnog is only to be made with Captain Morgan Spiced Rum in my book.

Single malt scotches are considered a treat in my house.
I prefer a sherry cask finish (Macallan) or a madeira cask finish(Glenmorangie)

both were decent, but Macallan 18yr is much better, IMHO.

For vodka straight, a shot of Stoli 100 proof kept in the freezer is a nice bracer on a cold day. When the weather is hot and the friends are about, then the Jaegermeister starts to get thawed out.
I have a bottle in the freezer at all times.

Let me just point you in the right direction when it comes to strong alcohol.
Here's three of my favorite single malts. Guaranteed that once you've tasted these, you will only use your Jack Daniels for unwanted guests, inlaws and desinfection purposes.

Ardbeg. Try the 17 year old, although the 10 year old is not a punishment either.
Lagavulin. Either the regular 16 year old, or the Double Matured.
Laphroig: try the 15 year old. Some people prefer this over the Lagavulin.

These are all islay, reflecting my own taste. In general, look for whisky at least 12-15 year old, since age is what gives warmth, character and depth to it.
You can also look for "Cask Strength" bottles - these are undiluted so have a higher alcohol %. You should dilute these at home with some good spring water with a very neutral flavor, such as Evian.
