Poker only Notebook PC

Hey, guys, looking at picking up a notebook for sitting by the pool and playing.

What would you think would be a minimum CPU, Mem, HD capacity? Need to add wireless. I'm just too far out of the loop, now. What could I be looking to pay?

Thanks for the help, in advance.

Naw, guys, I'm looking for something off Ebay. I don't need a 3 grand turbo-charged mega notebook. I'm just looking for something around $500 that would allow me to sit on the lanai and enjoy the fresh Florida air, while beating the brains out of guys buried in snow. :)

Long live Ebay and pre-owned junk.

I would suggest PMing low_dough (his signature is 'PM me with any computer questions') as well. He seems very knowledgable about hardware matters.

Just make sure that the wireless adapter in the notebook you buy is of the same generation as the wireless Access Point or router you have or will be buying.
It would not be fun to have a wireless "G" router and have an "A" adapter in the notebook.

The G is better, faster with a longer range, and less likely to have problems with interference.
If you have a cordless phone in your house that uses the 2.4GHz frequency, you shouldn't get the wireless B network.(same frequency), or pick up a 5.6 GHz model.
Most poker programs are not very processor or graphics demanding, expecialy compared to 3D games. So the cheaper models will do fine.

All pokersites have minimum reccomendations for computers to run their games, so do not go lower than those, and you should be fine.
The only exception would be if you are running 2 sites at one time, you would want at least twice the minimum memory installed..
