[7d]. He flopped a straight.
[Ks] in EP. I should've known to make a bigger raise because it was a loose table (it was my primary table so I was watching it closely). But instead I only raise 5x the BB, to $1.25. Get three callers, all in better position than me. Uhoh. Flop came
[5c][2c]. Seemed like a safe flop, but with three people behind me who knows? I bet $3.25 into a $5.37 pot. First two players call. Yikes! Last player goes all-in with his last $7.09. Double yikes! At this point I felt it was important to me, even if I lost the hand to the all-in, to raise and isolate this player. The player directly after me had a little more money than I did and I really wanted him gone. Even though his smooth call of my opening bet scared me a bit (he seemed solid enough), I still wasn't sure he had enough to risk nearly his entire chip stack. The next player I wasn't too worried about. He had less than $10, was very loose and had called down pretty bad hands earlier. So I reraise all-in ($22.11) to give the guy next to me every opportunity to fold; not only does this guy call, but even reraises himself all-in (there was really no reason to do that since he had me covered, but I guess it was just easier to push the bar all the way to the right). The loose guy after him calls all-in as well. I felt at this point I had maybe 10% chance of winning this hand. My only hope was that I had the solid player beat, but I wouldn't have bet on that at this point. Turn and river was

[Qd], whew. The loose player had
[Ts]. The original all-in guy was going for a flush draw with
[7c]. So ultimately I actually went all-in with the best hand and it held up but I'm still doubting that I played this hand the way I should've. But I won't bitch about the result.
[Jc]. 7 People limped, so wanting to thin the field a lot I made it $1.75 to go (perhaps I should've made it $2.00-$2.50, but hindsight and all that). There were three callers (uhoh), but then the SB, bless his heart, reopened betting when he went all-in with his last $4. Remembering that every single person out there limped in originally, I didn't screw around. I pushed all-in. If they wanted to gamble, I was willing to give them their chance. They all fold and I find I'm up against
[5h]. When a jack flops I let out a sigh of relief and eventually take in a nice pot to get my day started. I may have actually cost myself some money by betting everyone out since I ended up flopping a set of jacks, but since 7 out of 8 times I wouldn't've flopped that jack, I was just as happy to get everyone out of there and win a medium sized pot. An ace came up on the flop as well so if I hadn't hit my set I would've been gone on the flop if I'd just tried to limp.
[Js]. 3 people limp and I was just getting ready to raise when I realized I might look like a maniac doing that a few hands after the JJ. AJo isn't a hand I'm crazy about raising anyways, especially when I have almost no reads on anyone. So I limp myself. 5 people see the flop, which is
[Jd][7s]. SB bets half-pot with 63 cents. One caller and it's my turn. I raise to $1.60. Both call. Turn is
. They both check and I make a 2/3 pot bet of $4. SB calls, the other folds. River
. Bingo. SB checks. I bet exactly his remaining stack. He calls with
[8c]. I didn't even need that last ace. I'm loving Pacific and I've just won about $20 before I ever see the blinds again.
[Qs]. Very nice start to my session! One limper and I up it to $1.75. It's folded back to the limper who calls. Flop was
[3c][2d]. Limper checks. I bet $2.75 into a $3.87 pot. This was my mistake. I should've made it at least a pot bet because I was vulnerable to aces or kings coming up on the turn. He calls. Turn:
Ugh. He checks. I figure I'm beat, and unfortunately I let my bet show it. I only make a $5 bet into a $9.37 pot. He mini-checkraises and I fold. I lose $9.50 on that hand.
[7d] in the SB. 5 people limp and see the flop.
[Qs][7h]. Cool, I just flopped and under-full. I check them; if nobody had a queen I needed someone to catch up some. Everyone else checks. Turn is
. I decide to act as if that 8 helped me and I bet $1 into $1.25 pot. I get two callers. River is
. Great! Hopefully one of them just caught A8 or A7 or something. I overbet the pot: $6 into a $4.25 pot. I get mini-raised. Huh? I simply can't put him on AQ because I don't want him to be on an AQ. *L* Well guess what? After I get nearly all my money in the pot, I find out that despite my wishes, he actually has AQ. I've played against this guy before and he has around 65% VPIP. No way I was able to put him on an AQ. Of course he lost it all later on flopping a flush with J4s (that he paid to see the flop) and losing to a bigger flopped flush. That didn't help me one bit though. I maybe could've gotten away from the river without so big of a loss, but I doubt it; it's hard for me to fold a full house in that position. I think at any point if I'd pushed all-in he was calling and I would've lost it anyways. On the flip side if anything else other than that ace, eight or queen showed up on the river I have no doubt I would've doubled up on him, so I can't bitch too much just because 1 of the 7 cards that could beat me happened to show up.
