The apartment now has internet and I need to figure out how to get it in my room. I bought us a wireless router because Kara and Jenn both have laptops (as do I, but I don't use it much when home).

My computer does not have a built in wireless card so my options are the following.

A) Buy a wireless card
B) Buy one of them external signal recievers
C) Run an ugly wire from the living room to my room (adjacent so not terrible, but far from ideal.)

In my house I had B for a while but the connection seemed very unreliable. However I am a decent amount closer to the router in the apartment than I was in the house, and maybe you guys can point me in the direction of a higher quality reciever.

I need something super reliable. I don't wanna shove the river with air then get disconnected and have the guy not have to call my bet or something, and lose $600.

So in summary, A, B, or C, and if A or B please specify what product I can expect a good reliable signal.

P.S. The router is like a $70 netgear one.
Boy, you got me confused with a man who repeats himself.

D) get a new laptop. Seriously.

If your laptop doesn't have built-in wireless, it's probably an older one, and isn't as powerful as the new ones coming out. I just bought an HP laptop with a 17" widescreen - the screen is wide enough that there's far less overlap with 4 tables open at once, and I can run 4 tables, PT, and PAHUD without any drop in performance.

Or if you're too cheap for that (I paid ~$1200 for my including tax and shipping - I KNOW you've won pots that were bigger than that), then get a wireless card. :)
