Hi!

Im a 3/6 and 5/10 player playing at pokerstars most of the time. I have won good money for every month this year at these levels but this month so far I can not get a friggin break. Just wanted to share a couple of hands that were difficult from the last session to get an opinion if Im doing something wrong here.. I know that it could be and probably is variance, but I just want to make sure cause my confidence in in py play is getting lower..

When you use the hand converter, make sure that you select BTP as the forum selection so the output will be correct. And yes, please break these into smaller posts for analysis. This hurts my eyes at 4:45 am, and probably will at 9am when I get back to it.

Sorry.. first time I used the hand converter. I cut down on the number of hands and used the converter correctly now.. I think.

OK, these are some good hands for analysis. You might even get varied opinions because they are the sort of tough hands that are easy to mis-play. My thoughts:

Hand 1: Jam the flop, bet through the check-raise. Your AA looks good. Without reads I am folding the river. Would vilian fire on a double paired board on a missed JT draw? If so, call. If he has been showing down the goods, then it is an easy fold.

Hand 2: Fine. You need to call the turn c/r getting odds to draw to the nut flush. River call is fine unless you have a read that the turn check-raise means Ace or a set for sure.

Hand 3: Fine. You can't beat the raise and overcall on the turn often enough to justify calling. Your hand is unlikely to improve, and you could easily be beat by an Ace or a set already, in which case you are drawing to 2 outs. Fold.

Hand 4: Tough break on this hand. With the pre-flop action, villian's range is AA-QQ, AK, and maybe AQ or AJ. You can only beat AQ or AJ, and those holdings are the most unlikely in his range. Play is fine, and calling the river in a pot this big is correct.

Hand 5: You must have had a read that villian had a naked ace and is capable of laying it down on a scary board. I take this line if that is my read. Your flop raise and check behind on the turn screams free card play. If a heart hits the river, he lays down his Ax. When the 4th straight card hits the river, I lead out, folding to a raise. If you are planning on calling a bet on this river, you should lead out.

Hand 1: I like the raise on the turn there, and the call on the river could be a bluff, so a crying call there is ok, although with any read that indicates he bets his hands, I could fold.

Hand 2: I remember the results on this hand, but because of the action I might 3-bet the turn with the flush draw there and think any 4, K or club are outs there assuming he is CRing with an ace. I think a call on the river is not horrible w/o a read, but the way the action went down, I'm thinking he has aces up.

Hand 3: Too many callers on the flop, without a read on both saying they are CS's or complete donkey's I check/fold the turn.

Hand 4: Crying call is fine here. I'm guessing he has KK.
