Here's my schedule of tournaments for the night:

$5 tournament - 1990 players, ~800 left at the first break. I have 7500 in chips which is not quite in the top 30.

$15 tournament - 787 players. 3 hands in I get to double up with pocket fours that flop a set versus AQo that hit top pair on the flop and two pair on the turn.

$2 tournament (starting at 11pm)

$2 tournament (maybe - starting at midnight)

Let me update that $2 tournament... out in 5 hands. Flopped top pair with an 89s hand and got all in on the turn when the board paired 7s - my opponent had K7o...

oh well. Better to concentrate on the others anyways...

And for the final blah of the night...

Blinds are 50/100, I have 1100 after posting the SB. Folds to the button, who makes a standard raise to 3xBB. I push with pocket eights. He calls with KTs.

Flop has a ten in it - I miss.

Good night.

12/17 9:00pm $5+.50 NL HE multi (1888), 1730th, 9:10pm, 7 hands, -5.50
12/17 9:15pm $9+.90 NL HE multi (360), 147th, 10:29pm 70 hands, -9.90
12/17 10:00pm $15+1.50 NL HE multi (691), 378th, 10:49pm, 47 hands, -16.50
$175.48 ($31.90 used tonight, $199.10 used total, $57.30 total gain, ($141.80) net)

So ends this brief period. Definitely wasn't as successful as I wanted it to be - probably has something to do with the wide array of tournaments I played.

Nice - but there's one significant difference between that hand and mine... mine happened to me :)

Anyway - despite getting knocked out early in one tournament (10FPP), getting knocked out on a 1-outer in the other ($2+.20), and being down ~$12 on my $0.25/$0.50 O8 table - I managed to turn things around in the last 10 minutes of my session to come out ahead.

I was real concerned about my O8 game - the couple of times I sat earlier in November I felt like I was playing too many hands, calling down too many losers, etc. Last night started off much the same and the stats confirmed it. After 30 hands, I had won 2 hands without showdown (both were bets on the flop that folded the field) and I had seen 6 showdowns without turning up a winner. 0 for 6 on showdowns in O8 is a very clear indicator that I'm doing something wrong...

Anyway, I put another $5 on the table and bore down on what I was doing - finally got things turned around and posted a nice profit. My Omaha Hi/Lo game is rusty, but that doesn't mean I can't whip it back into shape.

On the bonus front, I earned 1FPP for the $2 tournament and another 5 or so from the ring game over an hour or so. That's not a very fast rate, but thankfully it is pretty close to what I would need to average in order to make the bonus before the expiration date. I suspect I'll move up to $.50/$1 O8 before the date comes close anyway - so that should help things.

I did enjoy the O8 game last night, something I definitely missed. The table had a $4 average pot when I showed up, but I did like the $20+ pot that came up about 4 hands in... wasn't a part of the hand but it was pure brilliance. In another hand, I got 1/6thed with the low and still netted a profit on the hand (1SB)... that is absolute greatness...

12/18 10:38pm $0.25/$0.50 O8 ring (10) $10 buyin, $5 rebuy, 12:35am, 79 hands, +6.65
12/18 10:40pm 500FPP NL HE multi (4255), 2464th, 11:01pm, 18 hands, 0
12/18 11:00pm $2+.20 NL HE multi (1725), 586th, 12:20am, 71 hands, -2.20
$121.73
