now.. about the rebuy MTT I was in yesterday....

RedBarracuda ... 3rd place... I was slight chip lead at the final table but there were like 3 guys having just 1 or 2 big blinds less then me so it wasn't like I could make moves whenever I wanted.. When we were down to 4 i suggested a split since we were all kind of the same, me being in front by "camel's hair" and it was just down to stealing blinds and pushing PF so there was not much going on... guys didn't want to split so me not wanting to sit there any more pushed some more... 4th guy got out in the meantime and then i went out in next 3 hands .. with KTs against AK and then again with QJs against AK.. so I collected around $650...

but that's not all.... there was this side game or whatever do you call it in english.. i mean.. you fill your data on the paper, tell them about the tourney and what should be improved and then put it in the box... at the 2nd break they announce that they will pick 1 paper out of the box who will get to go to city of Varazdin (it was the capital of Croatia in history, before it burned down completely) and play the tournament there and get to stay in a nice Hotel... so yea.. they picked yours trully... and the best part is that like 20 minutes before they did the picking I told the guys/girls at my table that they'll pick me.. I actually REMEMBERED the feeling that I got when I was a kid and got the trip to Singapore for 2 persons.. same feeling... same result...

All in all .. it was my day yesterday..

I went to play live yesterday.. it's the standard 1/2 PLH ...

I admit I don't have the stack for this game but it's rather juicy and can be very profitable, so occasionally taking shots at the game in the hope of creating a bankroll for it to play there steadier is something I am willing to do..

that being said.. I lost 200€ yesterday in 4-5 hours... and I lost them all in 3 hands actually...

The evening showed it's face when I was dealt [4s] in BB. 3 limpers.
flop [4h][7d]. I check and all check.
Turn is an and I bet 8€, all fold to the BTN loose guy who raises to 25€.. I call.
River is an and I check.. he makes it 40€ and I just call seeing that he has the needed 4.. we split pot..

I was cold decked for the most of the evening.. I got [Qh] and doubled up once when I slowplayed top set on flop.. I mean, another loose guy bets into me and I call.. He does it again on the turn and I pinch, he calls and has [9h] and I zake it down...

Then.. 3 hands.. I Pot raise [Th] OTB and the above guy reraises from UTG. I call and the BB calls. so, the pot is now around 70€.
Flop is [5c][7s].. all check..
Turn .. all check..
River .. all check again and this time I bet €40.. BB folds and UTG calls. He has [Ks] and zakes it down..

Straddled.. I raise pot OTB with [Kd].. Loose guy in SB calls...
Flop.. [4s][9c].. He checks and I check behind..
Turn .. He bets 20€.. I call..
River .. He bets 40€.. I call.. He takes it down with [7d]..

Last hand of the night for me..
Straddled.. I raise pot from SB with [Qh], guy next to me who plays 99,9% of his hands reraises pot and I have like 30€ behind me so I pinch... He calls and opens up [Kd] and I can go home...

mmmphh.. for the last 3 days or so my stack is fluctuating up and down and always ending where it started.. today I made a small breakthrough..

interestingly enough.. I play NL25 and my stack fluctuations were like from 5-6 down, to 5-6 stacks up from what I started and I always ended it on a positive 0.. today (at least for now) was a bit different..

so, thinking about it i managed to slightly change my approach today cause' i figgrd that I can make shit loads per day on NL25 unless I get oversetted or overboated or overstr8ted like last 2 days.. the problem I actually had was that I was playing against some nits/set miners and I didn't know that at the time... also, I got few donks sucking out big time especially yesterday.. still, i managed to break even and get back what's rightfully mine from those pricks..

so, today was a better day then the last few and I am still on course to end the month with $1250 in my poker site account, the number I wanted to see there when I started playing NL25 on 01.06.2007. ... i really want to move to NL50 but I realized that I am poker money nit somewhat so I will probably stick to NL25 with occasional stabbing at NL50 .. the reason for this is that I don't want to lose $200 at NL50 and then have to grind it out again at NL25 only to perhaps lose it again at NL50 .. I know this is the normal way of things, especially when moving up but what if I can make more at NL25 per day then I can at NL50 per day... what then? .

the thing is that if I hit $1250 by 01.07.2007 it will be the equivalent of $25 per day at NL25, or 1 stack per day.. that was what I was hoping for when I started, but I realized in the mean time that I can "easily" make $50 or even $100+ a day on NL25.. I don't think I can beat NL50 like that every day.. the reason being the nits and tighters that float you more.. this means I have to be either even tighter and nittier then them, or should accept the higher variance game where I will fluctuate/lose more moneyz than I make..

really dunno what to do... prolly gonna keep hitting nl50 once i get to 1250.. also.. i will still play nl25 to try and offset the eventual losses i might endure at nl50... bah..

back to the grind ...

since I moved to NL50 I am cold decked and struggling with adapting to the nitier (sp?) players then at NL25 .. they are also more aggro and float more, so basicaly, much more money is changing hands in 1playing hand... it's not double as it would seem to someone from NL25.. it's more... nuff about that.. i will find some hands to post in NL section cause I am dying to get some answers and improvements on my NL50 game...

On saturday, I was in Varazdin playing at another promotional NL Holdem tournament .. remember, I got the hotel room for the night at the lottery during the last event... so.. I played the tour again..
somehow managed to not lose a stack with my turn str8 that turned backdoor flush for the donk, but then I lost it all when I was actually 50-50 with Q3s vs. 22 but guy got his quads right there on turn.. so I took a rebuy and add-on later on and went to the final table where I popped out of the tour with my [Qd] vs. [Jc] .. so, I was 8th out of 80something people and got a small fee that covered my rebuy and add on and a little extra.. All in all, it was nice to be on the final table again..

Next promotional tourney is on the coast, in Rijeka, and I will probably go there too, and it's in 3 days (Thursday). Who knows, maybe I'll get to the final table again..
