Xas's tv research results?

Xas, what did you finally end up getting? The 100" Panasonic for $50k?

I've been shopping around myself a bit in this regard and would seriously be interested in the results of your research.

But I really need both a new monitor and a new tv.

On the monitors, the dell 19" ultrasharp seems to get the best reviews in its price class. And for my purposes (working fairly close with its being on the desk), I have my doubts whether getting more than 19" would even be productive. That one goes for about $270 or so, I think.

On the tv setup, what I've read is that the one weakness of LCD over plasma is that plasma has a true black whereas LCD doesn't. "They" also seem to think that the etching issue with plasma is overblown.

Another very interesting option, which I assume gives screen size limited only by your wall is one of those little projectors. Has anyone tried out one of those? Particularly on the ones under $1,000, I wonder whether they give you sufficient brightness during the daytime. Also, does anyone know whether the image quality under dark conditions is at least as good as something like a 40" LCD or plasma?

yea go 20" with the monitor so you can 4-table without overlap.
