Would you consider a break during a rush?

Postby odogg » Thu Dec 29, 2005 2:40 pm

I got back from Vegas at the beginning of December. I have played pretty much every day and have been on the biggest rush of cards in my life.

The main thing is I am playing every single day and am ready for a break but I am reluctant because of the rush.

Would you sit out and rest your mind or ride the wave?

If poker is not your job and you want to take a break, take a break. If it's paying your bills and you're "on a rush" (I quote that because the concept of being on a rush shouldn't affect if you keep playing, but when you're "on a rush" you're probably playing better and trusting your reads more,) you should probably keep putting in hours till your play becomes adversely affected.

Just my 2 19 year old cents.

Wow Xaston your 19, you look like your 12 in that avatar you had posted.

My 2 27year old cents. If you want a break, take a break. You are playing wel,l that is the biggest reason you are on a rush. The cards coming hot is part of it too, but to maintain a streak of winning you have to be playing well. One of easiest ways to stop playing well is to burn yourself out. Take a day off, rest, get laid, do something not poker related for a day. Then come back and pickup where you left off.
