All the above are tabloids with questionable levels of journalistic integrity - of the more intelligent and well-written "broadsheets" some would say that the Telegraph is excessively conservative and the Guardian excessively liberal, which would only leave the Observer (still left-wing by US standards) and the slightly more centralist Independent. In truth all four are relatively trustworthy on journalistic standards, and just come from a different angle in terms of their politics. The Times (London Times), Britain's oldest paper, is an odd one politically in that it's traditionally been very conservative and supported our conservative party, though lately has supported the current ruling labour party (our equivalent of the democrats, i.e. our mainstream liberal/social democratic party) whilst still having a kind of neo-con flavour (as it's run by rupert murdoch, who is also the owner of the Sun).
