What I now know about cornbread

Is this,

If you do decide to make cornbread topped chilli then for gawdsakes spread it out on some greaseproof paper real thin and then slide it onto the chili, otherwise spooning it onto moist chilli is impossible to spread out. At most points the cornbread was 2 inches thick and quite cake-like.

My cooking interest is such that I may never make cornbread again, it really isn't a well known dish in the UK as far as I know. To make sure sure my experience isn't for nought, don't forget to spread it out really thin!

PS. I realise maybe everyone else but me already knows this. Doesn't really matter the chilli was really tasty and we boozed it up anyway.
