Cmon, guys. This is (apparently) an all-guy forum and I expect to hear events of import to guys here.

Kobe scores 81 and nobody even mentions it?

I had to read it in the NEWSPAPER??

C'mon, people, get with the program.

Anybody see the game? Anybody got any comments?

i have kobe in one of my fantasy leagues. it's h2h, and we only start 5 players each week...last week kobe was only 50 pts away from outscoring the entire other team.

i don't really like kobe...he's a ballhog. but honestly who is he going to pass to on that team. 81 pts is sick. i give it up to him.

And didn't he score like 62 in 3 quarters a few weeks ago?

Yeah, there are quite a few LA boys on this forum I thought it would be posted sooner.

Kobe is a ball hog this is true. Kobe's teammates (if you call them that, when the second best player is possibly Smush Parker) suck this is also true. Thusly if I'm Phil Jackson and I want my only good player happy, I'll let him shoot 46 shots (especially if he makes 28 of them, nothing wrong with shooting almost 60%).

He looked damn near unstoppable.

Good night. There are some haters on this board.

Yeah, yeah - we all hate Kobe. But seriously - 81!??!? This was the greatest single game performance ever. He shot 60+% from the field! I'm all for the team concept - but part of that is this - if a guy is red hot, and no one on the floor can check him - keep feeding him the ball until he cools off. In 48 minutes against the Raptors, he never cooled off - he was in the zone for the whole game. Unreal.

Dandhan - Kobe is the best offensive player in the game right now. He can shoot from the outside, come off screens and shoot, get to the bucket, beat his man off the dribble every time, post up, and most of all - he hits massive shots in the clutch. Lebron's not there yet - but he will be. You are crazy in the coconuts to mention AK47 and Miller in the same sentence as Kobe - they're not even in the same league. Nice players, but c'mon.

CJ - You add nothing to this thread. We get it. People over 40 have become disenfranchised with the NBA. I love Larry legend too - but get over it.

NWC - The Sea/Phx game was nuts. Dont know what it is, but three out of Phx's last 4 losses have come in triple overtime twice and now double overtime. Ouch. Crazy game though - Ray Allen - basketball jesus.

A while back, Phil Jackson said Kobe has almost all the tools that Michael Jordan had. The only major difference Jackson pointed to was that Michael had these huge hands so he could carry the basketball like most of us can carry a baseball. Kobe doesn't have that.

Kobe on the Lakers right now is a lot like Michael on the Bulls in the early years. One guy trying to do it all. Jordan took the Bulls a long way before the combined Celtics beat him. I don't know if Kobe is in that class, but at the same time I don't know that he isn't.

If I am allowed to hate on the NBA: what I hate is how few of their games are available on regular TV. I don't have cable and don't have plans to get it. Especially in the playoffs, it becomes harder to care when you can't see the games.

AK47 is one of the best all-around players in the league, but offensively he is nowhere near Kobe, and I guess someone let a Kings fan loose in here to say Brad Miller is better all around offensively.

Kobe is the best offensive player in the league right now, I don't think that can be questioned. Bron-Bron will be in time, and Nash and Dirk are also high up there offensively.
And Ray Allen is probably the best pure shooter in the league now that Reggie is gone, though Rip isn't too far behind.
