I read the book Battlefied Earth by L Ron Hubbard when I was 16 (long while ago). It's about 1400 pages from memory and although I knew nothing of Scientology at the time I remember thinking while reading it, "this is all a bit odd why is 1 human with no education able to outwit a galactic empire? What's he getting at?"

Truly dreadful.

Plan 9 from Outer Space is generally reckoned to be the most incompetently made film ever. Personally I'd go for Titanic, Terms of Endearment or most films starring Tom Hanks.
