Its the newest Sony technology on the market. Its called the Grand Wega. Its a combination of LCD and DLP technology.

When you say "flat screen" if you mean a plasma, then no its not. This baby has a better picture than a plasma. Its not flat like a plasma. You cant hang it on a wall.

Damn, I wish I had thought to get this a couple weeks ago so I could have it for the SuperBowl.

Oh, yeah. It weighs 112 pounds.

Has anyone ever bought something expensive online? I bought an $800 monitor from an online store but never something this expensive.

This TV is selling for $4500 at Best Buy right now.
Circuit City has it for $4100

A frined of mine works for a Sony distributor and can get it to me for $3275 plus tax for a total of $3553 which is one hell of a deal, but I just found it at an online store (PC and Plasma) for $3000 plus $300 shipping (no tax) for a total of $3300. This sounds too good to be true. Thoughts?

costco had a really sweet sony for $3200 or so. it's not on the website anymore, but it might be in the stores. this may be the same one that you listed, but it's definitely one of the best 60 inchers i've seen in that price range.

Buddy had problems getting his 53" HDTV online...took two months and a second order before he finally got one over here. Seemed like there was always a problem of overordering which increased wait time...even heard from one group there was a "national shortage".

My advice is to be patient if you order online...odds are it will take a while for a high end model to get to your door.
