In the spirit of Christmas

Postby Beavis68 » Sat Dec 23, 2006 4:36 pm

My daughter came in last night and showed me the picture below that she drew, and I asked her what is it was. She is 6, I never talk about hunting, I have a shotgun and a few handguns and used to bird hunt but hunting is not a part of our lives. I was pretty surpised at how she described the picture.

The picture starts at the top, close to the center where I am helping her shoot a deer (her first I guess). It then moves to the upper left where grandma is cutting up the deer for dinner (note the tongue hanging out). Now to the lower right where momma is cooking up the deer meat (no she is not playing the keyboard as I first thought).

While all of this is going on, grandpa is teaching hannah to fish in a river with 100,000 fish.

The best part, it wasn't just a white tail or black tail she shot, no, for her first hunt she bagged a reindeer. I started laughing very hard as she described grandma hacking up the reindeer and she started crying. I was finally able to explain what I thought was funny to her and she finished the narative for me.

I looked at the picture before I read your description and I thought "Oh, the Aristocrats".

From an avid bowhunter I consider that a classic.

The beauty is she decided to go and bag herself a reindeer :)
