Last year one of my housemates 'blocked the toilet', I tried to fix this by chopping some hosepipe in half to shove down a clear the constriction. I decided to use the same knife that Navy Seals use (a bored Ebay purchae). Due to the insane sharpness of the knife it slipped and severed 1.75 of the two tendons connecting the thumb to the rest of the hand, along with a bunch of nerves and some muscles.

The monster gash in my hand didn't bleed at all and also didn't hurt, though it was somewhat alarming to actually see severed musles inside your hand. Got it all reconnected (I thought severed tendons were unfixable previously), though the hand is slaightly gimpy in terms of grip strength.

FREE modern surgery is sweet.

And so are hospitals in general.

I pay $340 a month for insurance for my daughter and me. The emergency visit has a $100 copay. It still takes years to get seen.

Oh, and rdale, Burbank, Pasadena, and Arcadia are decent, non ghetto places to live and are relatively inexpensive by So. Cal. standards. Traffic can be brutal. It once took me three hours to get from Arcadia to UCLA. . .

Yeah if i had to pick one single decently nice place around here to live affordably, id say burbank is it. But, since i know our buddy rdale, id say that he'd be willin to get his hands dirty a bit in order to be closer to the things he loves, namely rich hot chicks that love to do anything that would make thier fathers cringe, and a host of other degenerate activities, id say culver city / palms is the place for you. Its similarly priced ot burbank- not as nice in terms of area (not terrible either), but alot closer to the west side, the beaches, the strip, and all that jazz.
