No, K3nt, the important thing isnt to get clear on the causation factor because all of this started when I made my original statement that I still stand by.

I never made any attempt to explain, figure out, or come with a solution for the higher murder rates among black people. I only stated that it is higher.

I'll let all of you college educated people figure the rest out. Im just stating a fact.

It was just mentioned that Washington DC and Baltimore have a very high murder rate. Anyone want to guess the percentage of those cities that is black and how that percentage compares to other medium to large US cities?

I get it now, but what sounded racist Ice, was the fact that you marked a persons race in one country and used that observation to explain trends in another country without any mention of other factors.

The direct implication from the first post was that you either
(a) Think black and hispanic people are more prone to crime under any circumstance, or
(b) less offensively, think black and hispanic people are poor everywhere and therefore more prone to crime everywhere.

Apparently you meant (b), but your neglect of the fact that there are countries with poor white people which have high crime rates is what stood out in your analysis.

I still dont get why you point out the race instead of the size of the low income population.

Here's one (actually 2) interesting factosr: poor parenting and single parent homes. I don't think there is a way to control for poor parenting but I attended a lecture on teenage murder rates in boston presented by a psychiatrist. They showed a graph of the city and had dots where all the murders happened. Most all were in 'poor' areas, and a disproportionate number were in poor black areas. When they put a graph up of where the different levels of concentration of single parent homes were the correlation was friggin scary. It was way more closely correlated to the areas with the highest concentration of single parent homes, way more than either simply the poor areas or the poor and black areas.

It was in the highest concentrated single parent home areas, which were in the black areas, which were in the poor areas.
