Riddle of the Week - The Old West and the 3 things

Ok, the riddle of the week...It comes from the story about Frank Morgan. What were the 3 things? ...to be the best gunslinger and poker player. I will rule out SKILL...that of course is a given, so don't say skill. PM me your guesses for the 3 things...no. 1 is one word, no. 2 is one word...no. 3 is a sentence or two and can be a combination of things not counting no. 1 and no.2. BASED ON THE STORY what are your guesses? In case of a tie, a 4th thing will be added. BASED on the story, what would the 4th thing be? (IRexes said "the ability to 'outdraw' your opponent. Very good, and very true, and a great double meaning and humour...but that's not what I had in mind.)
So give your 3 guesses and 4th in case you tie with someone. MUST be a PM...on the thread answers or guesses won't count. And you ONLY get ONE attempt, so make it good before submitting.
