Well, It's been a good night for me. After returning to my strongest hunting ground of the 100PLO tables (with some 200 and 50 thrown in), I've had a real top night at Stars. Played a near 6 hour session (very long for me, generally it's 2-3 hours before I lose concentration and cash in). What really helped was having a target to aim it, hands-wise (that is, the 700FPPs required to clear my stars $150 bonus). Well I got within 80 points of the bonus, so I have $150 to look forward to tomorrow, plus the $350 I banked today from some very solid, aggressive play. The tables at stars are quite passive, and the players predictable. You'll rarely be bluffed, and so playing hard with draws (or even sometimes nothing) in pots that no-one seems to want can often pick up nice freebies. A whole lot of small pots, together with a couple of double-throughs on the 100 tables, were the basis for my winnings today. Stars is the only site where I feel comfortable making a flat-out bluff into a 4 or 5 handed field and be relatively confident of not being called, in the right situation.

Really felt like I've controlled the tables tonight, for 6 hours, and been on absolute top form. One of those sessions where you KNOW you're just better than everyone else sat there, and the confidence and pots just seem to flow from that. Nice way to turn the corner from a very bad December, and although it's only 350 bucks, with another 150 to come in bonuses, I'm feeling an awful lot better about poker now. I'm a little scared about the forthcoming empire bonus he he he, but I'm figuring I can play 25NL on 4 tables and release the $200 in a couple of nights. Then, I think I'm going to wait for my money from rake rebates and cash out, hopefully a little up for the month!

Well, that's how it's going for me of late anyhow. Keep aiming for those heads!

Congrats on your success. I had a similar day yesterday..taking in $400 over 6 hours. I knew my dry spell was coming to an end.

Today I started and went down $200..and came back to being up $70 after 71/2 grueling hours. Proud of myself.

Good luck to you monk! I feel this is my month..maybe it will be yours too?

Yep, love those sessions where you get crapped on then pull it back. The feeling of cashing in a winner and knowing you played well is only rivalled by the horrible feeling of stopping your session short knowing you're losing too much and going on tilt.

Last night I had a nightmare at NLO8, losing about $300 pretty quick, though in the end I got my losses down to about $130 with some decent PLO play, and with the $150 bonus coming, actually finished the night with more money than I started with (though I was actually a loser at the tables). Annoying to let the bonus slip without it really giving me any headway, but satisfying to know that I played like a goon yet made 20 bucks in a couple of hours.
