Really Odd Voice-Mail

Postby Xaston » Wed Jul 26, 2006 1:07 pm

So yesterday while I was out I got a phone call on my cell phone. It was from "unknown number" or a number I didn't recognize. I answered the phone but I was either driving or bowling (my memory sucks) and the reception wasn't very good. I heard the word poker and it sounded like a girl, but thats about all I could make out. I hung up shortly thereafter. I got another phone call and this time didn't answer, they left a voicemail message. The gist of it was as follows:

"Hi Jaime, I just called and you hung up, blah blah blah. My name is Leah blah blah blah. I would like to hire you to take part in my poker tournament. It's a big tournament with a big first prize. It's a nude poker tournament, where everyone will be playing nude. Blah blah blah. Give me a call back and maybe we can get lunch. Blah blah blah"

She had a very genuine sounding british accent. She didn't sound anything like anybody I know. While listening to cardplayer.com's "The Circuit" they have ads for a website called Nakedpoker.com. You can I guess win a date to play naked poker with a playboy playmate there. I'm not entirely sure. While on cadplayer.com I accidently clicked a link to it (Yea yea you don't believe me, I have better things to do than lie to you guys about something so trivial though). I briefly browsed the web page but I never signed up or downloaded the software.

The only logical thing I can think of is that it's some rep from nakedpoker.com (but I would have thought they would say something in the message right? They also never mentioned the playmate). I talked to MVP about it and he even downloaded to software at nakedpoker, but he did not recieve any similar phone call.

What's the deal? Furthermore, what's my best play? Should I even bother actually calling back?

Scam.
Last night I stayed up late playing poker with Tarot cards. I got a full house and four people died.

Did she leave a $1000 a minute phone number to call her back on?

So last night I went to play my voicemail for Kara and to my surprise I had a new voicemail. I figured it was just my mom. Nope. It was Leah, again. She blabbed more and more about the nudament and how I'd be perfect for it. Yadda yadda, she then told me that she found me through "livepokerforum.com." This is getting pretty interesting.

Poker is silly.

It is not enough to be good at chess, you must also play well.

Somewhere in the world someone is training when you are not. When you race him, he will win.
