Please help Roy and I spend money on Amazon.com

Postby Xaston » Sat Sep 02, 2006 1:31 pm

Note: This thread is solely for me and all statements in it are only factual about myself, all statements made about Roy are heresay and conjecture (wtf does that mean lawyers?).

Roy and I have been playing mostly on pokerstars.com lately. We earn a lot of FPPs. I used to use these for satellites and shit, that I never took seriously anyway. According to recent studies the best FPP/$ ratio is Amazon.com gift certificates. I recently "purchased" $400 worth of them and have started making a nice shopping cart for when they arrive. I thought that amazon.com was books, CDs, and DVDs. Back in my day, it was. It seems these days you can buy just about anything on there.

My request is for you to help me pick out things to purchase a) with the rest of my $400 and b) future gift certificate purchases.

So far in my cart I have the following:

Books:
Logical Chess.

DVDs:
Futurama Seasons 3 and 4.

Other:
A set of golf clubs.
Fresh Oysters.
An Oyster knife.
An Ice cream maker.

Serious and joking suggestions welcome.
Boy, you got me confused with a man who repeats himself.

Be glad your opponents refuse to fold; if they didn't, you just might go broke.

I can't get anything from Amazon because they only have US, UK and CA stores

Fortunately by the end of this month I should have enough to use their concierge service to get whatever the hell I want, so fire away the suggestions \:D/

I'm thinking another monitor to replace my crappy CRT that's breaking down; i've looked into those LCDTV / Monitor double thingies and they look pretty cool, but it might be better just to get a basic monitor and a nice TV. Anyone have any thoughts on the tv/monitor combo? (ie: )

Other than that I don't really know..Anyone wanna buy an Ipod?!
Poker is silly.

It is not enough to be good at chess, you must also play well.

Somewhere in the world someone is training when you are not. When you race him, he will win.

Actually, in my trip to Turning Stone, Lee brought tons of alcohol and tried desperately to get me drunk and/or like alcohol. He made a few things that I didn't mind.

Gin + Tonic was ok, little too much like grapefruit, which I don't really like.

Whiskey Sour was actually something I would probably drink if I had it around.

Rum + Coke was pretty decent.

A makeshift long island iced tea (we were missing triple sec or something?) was also pretty enjoyable.

In summary: I used to not like alcohol, but I'm slowly warming up to some of it.
