Every concievable cards weakness seems to have come crashing to the fore lately - to be honest it's more of a worry than the couple of 8-game slides this year; losing close matches, crucial errors, leaving runners in scoring position, poor starting pitching beyond Carpenter (and, inexplicably, Suppan), jittery bullpen etc.
It's a shame cos it would've been nice to have more than one decent NL team. I think the Padres are the only team that can possibly give the Mets any sort of game on current form. And, shockingly, the Yanks look to have timed it right to win it all. What a bum season
