WARNING! : Pro Dallas Cowboys post following. :D

Now for my weekly Dallas Cowboy ponderings.

I think it would be a mistake for any of you not to take the Cowboys -3 at home against the KC Chiefs this week. KC is on a 3 game win streak and Dallas is on a tough 2 close game losing streak. Both these streaks are going to end this week.

KC has the 30th ranked pass defense in the league and it's high time Bledsoe & Co. start airing it out a bit again. This game is TOO important for the Cowboys playoff hopes for them to lose it at home.

Dallas has 2 or 3 ex-chiefs players on their team and I'm sure they are picking their brains for anything that might be exploited sunday. I actually think the Cowboys win this one in a walk away. KC has a decent offense but they are up against one of the BEST defenses in the league this year when they come to Dallas. KC is 2-3 on the road this year and the 2 road wins were at Miami and Houston so I don't see them as much of a road threat.

I'm actually surprised the line is only 3 points. From what someone else told me in an earlier post a few weeks back, that means that the odds makers basically think this game is a toss up and are giving the Cowboys 3 points because they are the home team. I don't think that will be the case this week.

I think the Cowboys win by more than 10. The O/U is 43.5 and I think at least 50 points are going to be scored, 30-20 or thereabouts. Hmmm, maybe I should do both as a parlay. $10 bet would win $28.18.
I'll probably puss out though and just bet on the win as I really don't know how to pick whether or not a O/U is a good bet or not.

I'd love to hear some thoughts on this from folks who follow the Cowboys or the Chiefs. Everyone else is welcome to comment as well of course.

EDIT:
Since I haven't been doing this sports betting thing very long I'd like to know if any of you who do it regularly think it would be a bad idea for me to bet $10 on parlay (win by more than 3 and over 43.5) and also bet $5 on just the win as a little insurance should they win but not have the total go over. I know there is a chance I could lose $15 doing this but I'm quite confident the Cowboys will win this and cover the spread easily so my thinking is that this could be a good thing to do in this particular case. Is this a stupid idea given my thoughts above?

Well way for everyone to lose that one. I'm not a Chief's follower but I am a fantasy football player and would like to share my thoughts on one guy.

Larry Johnson is a monster. Right after Shaun in Seattle and LT, I think he is the third best RB in the NFL, I would take him over Edge and Barber any given Sunday. As a backup to King Holmes he already put up some pretty good numbers in bery little playing time. Now after he's out with injury, his stats are incredible. In 6 games he has 172 rushes-822 yards, 20 receptions-190 yards and 10 TDs. Just trying to spark some life for a RB I hear nothing about from anyone else.

And how did everyone lose on that one? If they bet Dallas -3 like I told them to, it was a push and they lost nothing right? If they bet the over like I said to, then they won. No loss in there at all unless they bet on the chiefs which was not supposed to happen from this post. Much closer game than I thought it would be though. But the result was fine by me although I would have liked to see the Cowboys cover the spread.

I just got a very nice surprise. I just checked my Bodog account and I won my parlay bet! I had bet $5 on dallas-3 AND the OVER. And I had also bet just the Dallas-3 for $5 as well in case the over didn't happen. Well, I had figured that since the Dallas-3 part of the parlay was a push then the entire parlay was a push. WRONG!!!! Since the OVER bet did go over I still won the parlay. Cool. That gave me $14.xx for my $5.00 bet. Not bad since I had figured I didn't win anything.
