#2: my fiance refuses (for now I hope) to see it as a respectable 'job'...meh, she's not thinking that when it buys her stuff...hmm hahaha (I hope she doesn't read this!)

#3: uhh...yeah! Positively! People are always REALLY interested to talk to the 'pro' poker player...and I have the same problem now: some won't sit down even for a fun poker game where I give back what I win...grr

#5: isn't this the definition of playing for a living? fucking loaded questions man!

#7-8: if you answer yes, then you need discipline...

#10: dunno if this counts as fair: what about people who get staked?

#11: ...my soul, according to these assholes.

#12: If you can't answer 'yes' to #12 you don't know what the hell a BANKROLL is!!

#14: sure, cuz there were tonnes of fishies and the getting was GOOD

#15: doesn't t.v., movies, reading, sex, or going out with friends also satisfy this one?

#17: hell yeah! it's HARD to sleep after you have a huge win!

This list of questions is clearly bullshit...if you're a professional poker player, you're guaranteed to be called a 'problem' gambler even though you're clearly not...so, there's the clear demonstration of THOUSANDS of counterexamples to this test, therefore it's full of shit, QED...philosophy degrees ARE useful!

Geebus...I answered 'yes' to a LOT :P

Excession: poker is a problem only if it negatively affects your family or work life in a material way or if you are losing sums of money that you can't afford to - that's it.

Not only in a material way. If gambling significantly affects your enjoyment of daily life, then it is a disorder

Ah - lawyer word-usage sorry - I didn't mean 'material' as in 'tangible' I meant material in the way we lawyers use it - more or less the same as 'significant' ! We are saying the same thing
