I'm old, but not totally out of touch. 
I at least know who the Black Eyed Peas are.
Eating black-eyed peas for luck on New Year's is a Southern tradition. I'm not terribly superstitious, but I dig Hoppin' John so it's a win-win. I don't believe in Heaven, either, but I try to live my life in the best way I can, just in case.
