Mavs will lose to a team who can shut them down from the perimeter, I'm reckoning if/when they face san antonia that bruce bowen and tony parker will cause them a lot of problems on that score. Ice got 8-1 on them in Vegas a few months back, though, and that still sounds like great odds even though I think they're maybe 4th favourites only at the moment. Don't forget that Dallas have the toughest run to the finals of any team in the league pretty much.

OK, so the clippers would maybe be a tougher first round than Memphis but still I think that's not a walkover by any means, Phoenix in the semi will be the matchup of the round I think, could go 50-50 on that one I think, and then San Antonio to get to face Detroit in the finals - they've basically got to beat a .600 team in the first round then the three best teams in the NBA to win it... Probably 6 and 7 game series all the way and they'll be fatigues by the finals I think. I reckon if Dallas make the finals Detroit could win it in 5.

Anybody think NJ have got a chance with the tear they've put on in the last month? I know it probably can't last but seems finally Jefferson Kidd and Carter and putting it together as the most impressive 1, 2, 3 in the league and they can play some defense too. They've lost a couple recently though, perhaps the bubble has burst, but the blowout win over Phoenix was pretty impressive...

I thought Miami would be about 5th seeds in the league but they've stunk so badly in the last month or so I don't give them a chance against Detroit and to be honest I think NJ will do a number on them in the conference semi. Maybe their ancient bench doesn't have the legs for the full season + post-season.

OK, I reckon we should have a playoff prediction game, I'm gonna start a thread...
