and then there is Jason Grimsley

Moran

so he gets busted in April with HGH and cooperates (saving himself and saving him from the media) of course a week later his lawyer calls the feds and says we want out of the deal

so now he is busted

idiot

I would like to think if I ever became rich I wouldn't become a moran, of course maybe he was a moran to start with.

I literally just got done reading the affadavit completed by the fbi agent who ran the bust of Grimsley. Not only did this rat crack under questioning and admit everything, he ratted out everyone he ever saw take roids or amphetamines. Not saying the use of PEDs is a good thing, but if Mr. Grimsley were a friend or former teammate of mine, I would not be happy with him. He's about to become the least popular guy in MLB, and pretty quick too. Barry Bonds should send this guy a case of diabanol in thanks for deflecting some of his heat.

good god.

ps jarren, its MORON, not moran lol.

Personally I shall never ever understand what the hell is wrong with Baseball and the Players Union. At the end of the day all sports ultimately gain their money and status from their entertainment value. The surest way to make sure the players are paid their billions of dollars and that the whole gravy train keeps on moving is to have the best product possible.

Now I think I speak for the majority when I say that drugs are not rating winners. And the more drugs associated with a sport, the less popular it becomes, track and field being the current poster child for this. There for surely it is logical for a sport to want to be as clean and can be.

We know this is the case, I mean look at the whole Barry Bonds thing. Who really wants him to beat Hank Aaron's record for home runs? Anybody? You just know that MLB are cringing as he inches closer. Now why can't the powers that be look at this, shake their heads and say "never again"? Look at Albert Pujols, the games potential saviour but already there are whispers about him. I personally hope they are unfounded but the damage drugs are doing to this game is tainting everyone and everything acheived.

The leagues policy toward HGH is so stupid and short sighted it is untrue. It should be the league and the players union pushing for blood testing and anything else which will improve the games image and protect those salaries. It is in their self interest to have a clean game. Now if the players union is worried about a load of their members getting ensnared then the way forward would be to have a cut off date. Annouce that say as of next season this will be in place so you have so many months to get clean or else you have no place in baseball.

The Grimsley case proves that is can work since he freely admits to changing drugs once one got blocked. Now while this isn't the way you would want it to be you can see that closing the loops does have an effect. The battle is to keep closing those loops since doping it cheating. It is against the rules and spirit of the game as well as often against the laws of this country!

I am pretty new to baseball so maybe it isn't me place to speak out and maybe these things are more complicated than the way I see them. But at the end of the day I am a fan, a consumer and someone who will ultimatley turn off the TV if I am not happy.

I agree with making the penalties harsher for positive tests. Also there should be more testing and those samples should be kept on ice for a period of say 5 years. Would you want to bet that as each new steroid is made that it won't be cracked in the future. Most of the THG guys got caught on samples being tested after the fact when a test was later developed.

You basically got to raise the stakes right up. If you cheat on a sure thing today it might still come back and bite you in the ass later. Hell why not adopt the WADA code so first offense is 2 years, 2nd one is life.

All you need is the will to rid drugs from the sport, then methods etc can catch up.

OK sox/yanks coverage a little overdone I can admit. Save it for august. NY vs Bos is so outplayed they have a NY vs Bos poker tourney... get real.

BUUUUUT. Find a more interesting story in baseball. Pujols hitting 9012374892347 home runs? Barry bonds injecting himself twice as much? No one cares. Two teams that hate each other and are constantly making bids for the playoffs. Sorry guys as long as Boston and NY hate each other and the best players keep going to these teams you will still hear about em.

edit: I care about pujols, I love baseball but they are still trying to capture a bigger fan base. Like 19 year old girls wearing 'tek tee shirts or schill shirts. Its even better when they can't even point em out on the field.
Be glad your opponents refuse to fold; if they didn't, you just might go broke.
