LOL CJ, but I can't say people return from the USA impressed with traditional American food - much as in this country, the best cuisine seems to be imported from countries that do know how to cook... and London has more good restaurants that also serve a wider range of cuisine than pretty much any other city in the world.

Anyway, if you've never tasted a good steak and kidney pie/pudding, your argument about British cooking is invalid - it might not exactly be haute cuisine, but it can be very good. I'll take it over hamburgers and hot dogs, thanks.

ps only Americans call chips "French fries".

Get the filet at Ruth's Chris Steakhouse and wash it down with a Sierra Nevada Pale Ale if you want the (arguably of course) best of what U.S. food has to offer. You can also get some BBQ from K.C., or a shrimp po'boy from New Orleans (with extra remoulade of course).

Or you could get McDonalds I guess.

The Indian curry I tried was from your standard Indian food place, run by some pretty Indian-looking folks. Unfortunately there seem to be more and more of them around here lately. Ugh.

Good pizza comes from NYC, and only NYC. The only thing you can even attempt to compare it to would be pizza from the NYC Suburbs, and even that is not even close. To consider comparing it to what they call pizza in Chicago is blasphemy.
