Its kind of ironic

It is really ironic that this whole internet poker thing went down now. When I first started playing poker 5+ years ago telling people that you played poker usually got you a look something like if you said "I smoke crack on a daily basis." I remeber the look of terror on my ex's face 2.5 years again when I told her that I was going to quit my side job to play poker while I went to school. I remeber talking to Kenny and laughing about experiances with meeting new woman and how fast they would run away as soon as you told them about poker for a living. Today things are much different, when I tell people about poker almost everyone seems to think its cool even my mom and Grandma like it. Everyone is either playing or knows someone who does when I tell people they all want to know whats its like instead of looking at me like a degenerate. It is really ironic that the government has decided to outlaw poker after it has made the transition from being looked at as bunch of gambling addicts to social acceptable.

Once it became cooler to tell women (or teenage boys ) that you were a poker player than it was to tell them that you were a Congressman you knew they were going to get jealous and ban it.
