Importing hands in PT from Paradise and Poker Stars

Postby Twelver » Tue Jan 03, 2006 7:08 pm

Posted this in the PT fourm but not a lot of traffic in there:

O.K. I had just about f'n had it with this sh*t. I can't seem to get it to work right. I know that you can set it up to auto request hands from PokerStars or Paradise every 200 hands or whatever, but then do you have to go into your email, save the file as a text file and then import that file into PT...I mean what a pain in the ass. Also, I if I set it up to request hand hisotries every 200 hands and say I only play 45 hands after the last import before I realized I have lost to much and decide to quit if I request 200 hands again won't I get some hands that I have already imported? How do you get around the overlap?

A hint: Download the latest PT help files.

Seriously, I can't speak for Paradise, but with Stars, go into the options portion of the program and set the program to automatically save HH files to the hard drive. Then, use the PokerStars button on PT to point it to the folder you specified.

Easy. I haven't imported emailed HHs from Stars since they used the hard drive write option.

Twelver,
As far as Paradise is concerned, you still have request HH's every so often but make sure to do it with less than 100 hands in between requests if you want to use GT+ (at this point PAHUD still doesn't support Paradise). Then you will have to tell PT to check for emailed HH's once they are sent. Sometimes this takes awhile before the email shows up on your email server for PT to be able to download it. It's slow and cumbersome compared to say importing hands from Party but it does work.
Pokerstars, for me the easiest way is to open up the instant HH window (in the "requests" menu in the pokerstars lobby window) and leave it open in the background. I'm not sure if it works without using the instant HH window but I was told to do this and it works for me. Also make sure to go into the options menu and under instant hand history option click the box for it to save your HH's. PT can automatically record from this and it updates pretty quickly. Make sure you tell PT what folder to look in to find them. Like Tibby said, you no longer need to request HH's by email from them like you used to have to do. Unfortunately you can NOT datamine at either of these sites which is unfortunate as these are 2 of my favorite sites to play at so good table selection is harder to do.
