I do not like gambling. I tink people who are willing to bet money on a coin toss that *isn't* crooked should get help.

I'd need at least a 60% edge before bothering. At 75% I would be willing to bet 1 or 2k.

The russian roulette thing I think is impossible to answer truthfully. I'd like to say I need X barrels for Y amount of money but I think that both numbers would actually be lower if the offer was real.

Poker is silly.

It is not enough to be good at chess, you must also play well.

Somewhere in the world someone is training when you are not. When you race him, he will win.

I'd take a 50/50 russian roulette for a chance to become immortal like in Highlander.

I really dont like the more mechanical forms of gambling, like roulette or blackjack. So I wouldnt bet anything on a game thats close to being ev-neutral. Its too much work for too little reward.

If i have a clear and significant edge, i'd be willing to bet a large part of my net worth, leaving myself enough to be able to survive reasonably comfortably while i work it up again, either at poker or a job.

I wouldnt bet my life on anything. I'm not sure i have a logical reason for that. I've done stuff like white water rafting which has a non-zero chance of death without being concerned. But i find the idea of risking my life for money somehow wrong. Possibly because i dont see my life being significantly more fun if i had a lot more money.

I'd prefer to gamble over something that isn't an utter crapshoot...prop bets and such that have to do with skill of SOME sort (golf and other sports...stupid dares...stupid challanges - weight loss/gain type crap). Those are more fun. Like Hansen and Antonius' tennis match coming up.

"#3 pencils and quadrille pads."
- Seymoure Cray (1925-1996) when asked what CAD tools he used to design the Cray I supercomputer; he also recommended using the back side of the pages so that the grid lines were not so dominant.

"Interesting - I use a Mac to help me design the next Cray."
- Seymoure Cray (1925-1996) when he was told that Apple Inc. had recently bought a Cray supercomputer to help them design the next Mac.
