How are your insanely hot stretches? (poker).

For how long do they usually last?

What happens out of the ordinary? Hitting too much draws, sets, etc? Outdrawing lots of people?

Simply getting paid a lot?

I was curious about this. My last one didnt last too long and i think it's always been getting paid and maybe getting a good amount of strong hands. But i cant remember anything extraordinary. I think the last time i felt i was running super hot my winrate was 10ish ptbb/100 for maybe 7K hands. That's pretty good if you consider my 1-2ptbb/100 lonf term winrate.

Describe your hot stretches.

They all depend, lately having 2 winning sessions in a row is a hot stretch. Poker is all about timing and making correct decisions. Heaters for me are making my big hands at the right time, flopping a set vs AA instead of a missed AK, getting sucked out less than normal when I get my money in good. Its kind of a weird concept but winning 5 out of 6 times you get in with a set vs a flush draw is a heater since you have made more money than than EV dictates you should have. Last summer I had like a 20 sessions heater. It would be really nice to have another one of those.

I've run at 4-5 bb/100 (lhe) for 10k stretches a couple of times. This is the sole reason i'm a winning player as far as i can tell.

For me it's all about the horrible players. I may be getting only mediocre cards but I'm getting paid when I'm surrounded by bad players.

Site selection, table selection and opponent targeting, plus some luck ==> hot streak
